PARK RAPIDS AREA SCHOOLS’ VIRTUAL ACADEMY
Park Rapids Schools offers PRAVA (Park Rapids Area Virtual Academy) for students in grades 6-12 whose families would like an online learning option. In PRAVA, students are placed in an individualized curriculum. Middle school courses will be provided in the core content areas (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies). Electives will be determined on an individual basis. High School courses will be provided to meet all graduation requirements of the State of Minnesota and the Park Rapids Area School District. Students are expected to complete the minimum number of credits as per policy each trimester to maintain appropriate progress toward graduation.
Please note: Typically, students are accepted into PRAVA only prior to the beginning of each trimester. Registration dates for the 2022-23 school year are: Aug 23, Nov 14, and Feb 20. As space is available, students who live outside of the District 309 boundaries are now being considered for enrollment.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
All students can engage in extracurricular activities at their school of enrollment when/if extracurricular activities become available.
STUDENT SUPPORTS
All students will continue to receive qualifying services such as special education, English language services, social work, and counseling through their enrolling school district.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Regardless of the educational environment, programs will follow state and federal health and safety guidelines.
